With all of these great Diaries about POTUS' energy policy I thought I'd point out that there's an amendment out right now which is trying to make EPA efforts to control Greenhouse gasses utterly toothless.
I don't diary much, but as you can see from my UID I've been here awhile...well, with a cousin of mine stationed in Missouri, I've taken an interest in it's politics. Moreover, we all know that the best way to go green is to turn places blue!

Jo Ann Emerson (R) from MO-8 (along w/ Skelton and Peterson) is cosponsoring this amendment:
Section 302(g) of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 6 7602(g)) is amended by adding the following at the end 7 thereof: ‘‘The term ‘air pollutant’ shall not include any 1 of the following solely on the basis of its effect on global 2 climate change: 3 ‘‘(1) Carbon dioxide. 4 ‘‘(2) Methane. 5 ‘‘(3) Nitrous oxide. 6 ‘‘(4) Hydrofluorocarbons. 7 ‘‘(5) Perfluorocarbons. 8 ‘‘(6) Sulfur hexafluoride.’’
Emerson is an entrenched GOPer who doesn't seem to care about the good people of southeast Missouri, but there's someone better IMO running: Tommy Sowers. Former Green Beret, and the kind of candidate Wes Clark's old fans would love. My fellow Kossacks, I was one of the many of us who joined back in 2004-2005 when things were bleak. We're all for a good fight and as a guy from a big military family I wouldn't mind a few more Iraq Vets in the House!
The media's narrative and the heeldragging on Healthcare, financial reforms, Terror trials, et cetera can be upsetting. But nothing cheers us more than turning a red district blue and also make it a lot more 'green!'
